I've been taking pictures of my models at my painting table for years. Most of the time I'm just sharing with friends so *shrugs* WHO CARES... O M G! I DO! The difference is unbelievable. I now have my Macro Mats set up next to my paint table. Even if I'm just taking a quick progress shot, I move it over, snap a picture with my cell phone and send to *insert buddy's name here*. Additionally, I got a check yesterday and I had to deposit it, you know digitally as we do these days. And it took ONE shot to do it when done on my Macro Mat. I know this seems like a "what?" but every single time I've had to do it the stupid app is like "take the picture again".
Box did not have instructions so it took me a little longer than I think it should have to figure out what went where (mostly cause there's an extension bar) but we've all built models w/o instructions before right ;-). In the end it really only took me about 5 mins if that.
The carrying case is nice and helps either keep it put away neatly or carry it where you need to take it.
I purchased the whole set and have 0 regrets. Thank you Table War.

I've been painting and photographing minis for years, and I've never been satisfied with my photography. You name it, I've done it, from shooting outside on a sunny day, to trying a variety of light setups. The Macromats work as advertised, making it easy to take quality photos.
I purchased the $70 set, and it was definitely worth the money. I've been taking better pictures with a couple of lights and my tablet than with a light box and my SLR, and with a lot less hassle.
If you're a painter and photographer, this product makes it very easy to take good pictures with little setup or effort.
I gave it only four stars for a couple of reasons. First off, if I had the option for a 4.5, I'd have done that. Second, the mats themselves, while made of neoprene material, seem a bit thin, and maybe a bit flimsy to me. This could be because I'm used to using mats like FAT mats for my mini games, which are significantly thicker. I just am not sure how durable they're going to be in the long run.
My other (minor) issue is that there were no instructions on how to set it up. It wasn't difficult to figure out, but I'm sure someone out there will have an issue with it, so it might be something to remedy in the future.
Overall, I'd rate this a solid buy and great investment for anyone who wants an easy and reliable way of photographing minis.
